I fully expect that some of you will have never considered the topics that we are going to discuss today. Others of you will find that you are very familiar with the topics and are hoping to find ways to fine tune the work that you are doing.

My expectation is that with a large audience we will not have the freedom and flexibility to play, experiment and discuss topics as openly as we might with a smaller group. However my HOPE is that you all will feel comfortable enough to interrupt and ask questions throughout our session.

Most importantly, I hope that you leave this workshop and discuss this topic with someone else, whether it's another attendee, a trusted colleague, a student, your spouse or your children. Discussion of this topic is one of the simplest ways that you can encourage information literacy skills. It doesn't require knowledge of a particular set of tools or technologies.
